mentorship programs

While teaching at Ithaca College and Syracuse University, Shaina Holmes has created two connected mentorship groups focused on post production. These communities, Park Post and Syracuse University Post, act as spaces for students, alumni, and professionals to come together and discuss trends and practices in the industry.

These groups meet weekly during the schoolyear with each session focused on a specific topic and hosted by a student leader. These meetings include instructional lectures on technical skills, broad discussion of post production news, and exercises to encourage networking and collaboration. There are also many opportunities for members to share their creative work for feedback and critique.

Previous topics include:

  • A.I. and Deep Learning

  • Audio Tips for Short Films
